TX-OU Game/Fair and Pumpkin Patch

Happy Halloween!!!Here are a ton more recent pics... First are from our trip to the Owen's Farm Pumpkin Patch where the kids enjoyed the hayride and the petting zoo. Then, there are some cute pics of them playing in the backyard after we got home...they had the best time sliding together. Below that is TX-OU game day at the State Fair...we went with Mimi, Potsy and PaiPai and hung out with a lot of Daddy's college buddies. It was a fun, but exhausting day...as you can see the kids napped in the stroller amidst the chaos. Macy loved riding around on the "go-go" with Pai Pai. The bottom pics are mostly of Macy making silly faces or dancing around. I did finally capture "the smile" that wins over hearts by Bryce...

Girl's Night Out, U2 Concert, State Fair with Nana, Funny Quotes by Macy

I'm on a roll with these blogs lately :) Here are some more recent pics of the kids. The top one is of the big spider we bought to hang in our tree for Halloween...one of our neighbors had one and Macy thought we HAD to have one just like it. Next are pictures from the State Fair when Me, Nana and the kids went (I'll include TX-OU weekend Fair pics on the next post...too many). Macy finally rides the kiddie rides now and had a blast! Next are pictures from Mommy & Daddy's night out to the U2 concert at the new Cowboys Stadium...it was a great concert!! We rode a giant limo bus with about 20-something other people (the bus was hilarious...it actually had a stripper pole in the middle of it). I tried to post one decent pic of Bono singing, but we were so far away, you can only see the screen and it's not that clear. There is a pic of Daddy and Bryce goofing around at a birthday party we went to recently. Bryce is such a cutie in his toboggan now that it's getting chilly outside (by the way...it is a big boy's size 7 hat...poor little guy has a big noggin). The very bottom are some pics of a recent girl's night out I had with a bunch of friends from high school...Bryan and Mimi watched the kids overnight and Daddy set up a tent in our bedroom that he and Macy "camped out" in that night :)
Recent Funny Quotes from Macy:
- "Something is drowning in my ear!" (in reference to having the feeling of water in her ear)
- "Mom, I bless-you'ed all over the window!" (after she sneezed bagel all over the window in the car)
- "Look at that big waterspout!" (It took me a while to figure this out, but it was in reference to a neighbor's giant spiderweb decoration - she thinks it's called a waterspout because of the Itsy-Bitsy spider song)
That's all of the funny ones I can think of right now. Bryce doesn't say much besides, "Mama, Dada and (randomly) Apple". He is so cute when he smiles...he wrinkles up his whole face and shows his teeth...he loves to eat yogurt and crackers and you can always get one of these giant smiles out of him just by saying one of those 2 words! Bryce has recently started a Mother's Day Out Program at a church near Macy's preschool...he is loving it and I am so pleased with the school and the teachers! :)
Speaking of MDO, I better go pick the little stinker up....see ya next time!

Austin trip and more

Ok...next post...these are mostly pictures from our trip to Austin in mid-September. Bryan had a dental meeting where he was nominated for "TAGD New Dentist of the Year"...he didn't win, but the nomination itself was a big honor. So, we all went with him, including Mimi, Potsy and PaiPai and stayed at this awesome resort called the Hyatt Lost Pines. The resort was out in the middle of nowhere, but was huge and was so kid-friendly. There was a water park, bikes to ride, horseback riding, hiking trails, and s'mores every night!! It rained much of the weekend, so we were a little limited on what we could do, but we swam everyday (in the drizzling rain most days) and Macy loved making s'mores every night...she would eat 2-3 of them at a time!! There are also some random pictures below of the kids sleeping in the car on the way there, an early fall bike ride (with poor Bryce in a pink helmet), Bryce playing in his ball pit, my little Longhorns in their game day gear, Macy's first day of preschool (in her cute little uniform), and Bryce getting into everything (the toy box and pantry are some of his favorite places to destroy).

Ok, so now back to present time...Oct 19th is Bryan and my 7 year wedding anniversary!!! We will be celebrating on our trip to Napa Valley in November with some good friends. For our anniversary night, I was inspired by a Barefoot Contessa episode the other day and I got a wild hair and decided to go for it...after all, it was supposed to be EASY, right? She makes it look so effortless....well, after wrestling a butternut squash and dropping it into the trashcan several times(it was empty with a clean bag) while trying to peel it, I cut my finger slicing the apples, then to top it off I splattered my face and neck with hot butter while flipping the fish and was in pain all last night (it's better today, no lasting scars). But, the dinner was very yummy if I must say so myself...Atlantic Flounder Meuniere, Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Warm Cider Vinaigrette and a French Apple Tart (the tart was sooooo good!!). Anyway, at least it tasted good, but I'm the worst cook...at least it was edible, unlike the infamous "chewy lasagna" I made after we first got married...Bryan still won't let me live that one down :)

Ok, so next post coming soon will be State Fair, TX-OU and Pumpkin Patch....
