Austin trip and more

Ok...next post...these are mostly pictures from our trip to Austin in mid-September. Bryan had a dental meeting where he was nominated for "TAGD New Dentist of the Year"...he didn't win, but the nomination itself was a big honor. So, we all went with him, including Mimi, Potsy and PaiPai and stayed at this awesome resort called the Hyatt Lost Pines. The resort was out in the middle of nowhere, but was huge and was so kid-friendly. There was a water park, bikes to ride, horseback riding, hiking trails, and s'mores every night!! It rained much of the weekend, so we were a little limited on what we could do, but we swam everyday (in the drizzling rain most days) and Macy loved making s'mores every night...she would eat 2-3 of them at a time!! There are also some random pictures below of the kids sleeping in the car on the way there, an early fall bike ride (with poor Bryce in a pink helmet), Bryce playing in his ball pit, my little Longhorns in their game day gear, Macy's first day of preschool (in her cute little uniform), and Bryce getting into everything (the toy box and pantry are some of his favorite places to destroy).

Ok, so now back to present time...Oct 19th is Bryan and my 7 year wedding anniversary!!! We will be celebrating on our trip to Napa Valley in November with some good friends. For our anniversary night, I was inspired by a Barefoot Contessa episode the other day and I got a wild hair and decided to go for it...after all, it was supposed to be EASY, right? She makes it look so effortless....well, after wrestling a butternut squash and dropping it into the trashcan several times(it was empty with a clean bag) while trying to peel it, I cut my finger slicing the apples, then to top it off I splattered my face and neck with hot butter while flipping the fish and was in pain all last night (it's better today, no lasting scars). But, the dinner was very yummy if I must say so myself...Atlantic Flounder Meuniere, Roasted Butternut Squash Salad with Warm Cider Vinaigrette and a French Apple Tart (the tart was sooooo good!!). Anyway, at least it tasted good, but I'm the worst cook...at least it was edible, unlike the infamous "chewy lasagna" I made after we first got married...Bryan still won't let me live that one down :)

Ok, so next post coming soon will be State Fair, TX-OU and Pumpkin Patch....
